Robert "Bump" Wilcox
Lives in: Marblehead, MA
Email: bump@newwaveyachts.com

Prior to starting New Wave Yachts with Parker Harrison in 1990, Bump worked at Baltic Yachts for several months in 1980 and then went to work as a broker for Sailboats Northeast for ten years. He has been racing and cruising sailboats all his life.

He grew up sailing on Narragansett Bay and has owned a boat since the age of eight. An accomplished racer with an impressive list of racing finishes, Bump is currently active in PHRF New England racing. He has won the PHRF-NE championships three times, the Mass Bay championship, the San Francisco Mid-Winter Regatta aboard an Olson 29 in 1987, and placed first in his class at Key West aboard an Aerodyne 43 in 2002. His sailing dedication has earned him a spot as an officer for the PHRF-NE since 1977 and he was commodore of PHRF-NE in 1982 and 83.

After New Wave Yachts began selling Edgewaters in 1996, he has had access to powerboats and has taken advantage, going out with friends and family whenever he has the chance. While Bump considers himself a sailor first and foremost, he is excited about all kinds of boats. "If it has to do with being on the water, I want to be there."

At New Wave Yachts, Parker works with Bump to manage the four branch offices and he coordinates promotions and marketing, including maintenance of the web site and boat show presentations.

He also has done extensive sailboat cruising throughout the Northeast, including delivery trips to and from boat shows and moving customers' boats between vacation destinations. Sabre yachts are his area of expertise; he has won the "Broker of the Year" (top producer) award five of the past six years. Parker is especially knowledgeable about all new and used Sabre yachts, from 1971 to the present, and oversees all communications and activities with the Sabre factory and staff. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, water sports, and cruising on his 18-foot Edgewater center console on the ocean and lakes of New England.
