Interior
The Sabre 402 has a terrific layout. Forward in the vessel is the master cabin which has a centerline island berth. There are numerous deep drawers and lockers for storage. A comfortable seat is located to port(with marine head under) in front of the convenient vanity(with sink) and mirror. A cedar lined hanging locker is found to starboard. A large deck hatch and 2 smaller hatches, as well as two SS opening ports supply ventilation and light to this spacious cabin. Traditional ash strips lining the hull provide a well finished look to the cabin.
Next aft is the main salon which has comfortable, deep settees port and starboard. A drop leaf dining table is mounted on the centerline. The port settee converts to a double berth. Deep lockers outboard of the berths provide ample storage, and a large deck hatch and opening ports provide great ventilation. the entire cabin is finished in rubbed effect varnish for lasting beauty.
The galley is next aft to port. With it's U shape, it is extremely functional both while underway or at anchor. Ample lockers with louvered doors, beautifully curved laminated wood fiddles and large counter space make working in the galley a pleasure. Features include a gimballed propane stove with oven, hot and cold pressure water single lever faucet at the double sinks, and a large ice box with two top openings and a cabinet front door for easy access. Sea Frost refrigeration for the ice box.
Opposite the galley, to starboard, is the large chart table and navigation area. The ship's AC and DC electrical panels are well placed for access, and the batteries are located under the chart table seat. Drawers below the nav table provide space for navigation tools, the SABRE tool kit, and for spare parts.
The Head area is aft of the galley and is accessible to all cabins. A corian counter top surrounds the vanity sink. There is a screened hatch overhead and an opening port outboard. Aft of this portion of the head is a fully enclosed shower stall with a wet locker outboard. The head can be accessed in complete privacy through a reduced height door to the aft cabin.
The aft cabin is to starboard, aft of the nav table. It also is spacious, as the engine is located under the galley counters. A wide, double berth stretches aft and a full set of lockers and drawers provide great storage. A bookcase faces aft on the centerline and SS reading lights are perfectly placed.
